On the mat, I enjoy sharing thoughtful hatha practices that flow with mindful breath while allowing us to play our edges with a light heart, as well as deeply nourishing and empowering sequences to optimize all stages of a woman’s life.  

Drawing from my training and personal practices in meditation, alignment based hatha flow, Ayurveda and therapeutic yoga, as well as my work as a women’s health care practitioner and my own pregnancies and births, I create and guide loving yoga practices for women of all phases of life.

Yoga of Recovery


TUESDAY’s 6:00 PM – 7:45 PM

This 6 week course is for anyone in recovery, and anyone looking to overcome self-destructive or addictive tendencies. Family members of addicts, yoga teachers, therapists and counselors will also find this course helpful.

Yoga of Recovery combines Yoga, Ayurveda and 12-step principles to create a holistic approach to recovery. Over the 6 weeks the 6 Tenets of Recovery will be discussed starting with Life is Longing and ending with Life is Progress. A yoga asana practice will also be done each week (suitable for all levels) to bring balance and calm into the body as well as yoga nidra to relax. Joy has over 6 years experience teaching yoga and offers a wide variety of techniques for depression and anxiety. A portion of the 90 minute class each week will be focused on Step 11, meditation sitting postures and practice.

This 6 week course will be offered Tuesday’s 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, starting on November 1st, 2016. A full paying series is $105 and the course is available on a sliding scale (based on income).

The course will require a minimum of 4 people to be signed up. If we haven’t hit the minimum we will contact those already signed up so we can all have a chance to recruit a friend or two in the last few days.

MEDITATION CLUB:women nature outdoors sunlight meditation

FRIDAY’s 11:00 am- 11:30 am.

Give your self the gift of Meditation. This 30 minute practice will offer a much needed chance to center and settle into the self after a busy work week. Each week an intention will be explored through guided and silent meditation with Joy. Beginners welcome, open to all seeking presence in mind, body and spirit.
